In Upper Dolpo there is no possibility for talented children to attend secondary school.
As the area relies on well-trained teachers, community nurses, trekking guides and craftsmen (such as local carpenters), we facilitate gifted students to attend secondary school in Kathmandu.
At present, 30 children from Namdo and Karang are being trained in Kathmandu. They attend three different secondary schools and different colleges.
For the accommodation of the children we run a hostel with a housemother and a cook in Kathmandu, in order for the children to live in a familiar environment. Our services include the costs of school education and the hostel expenses including the employment of a housemother.
