CONSTRUCTION OF A DRAINAGE SYSTEM IN SUMMER 2023

Before construction of the new school began, we were advised by the specialist engineer who had inspected the subsoil to build a drainage system. This was also commissioned from REED in 2020 to secure the slope. However, when we visited the school in 2021, we realized that only a surface water drain had been built.  

A drainage system was commissioned again in 2023 in order to collect and drain any penetrating slope water that could jeopardize the stability of the ground on which the school stands. This time, the details were carefully planned in advance, together with engineer Suman Rai, who also managed the repair and completion of the school building. He coordinated and supervised the execution. The drainage system was built without the involvement of REED.  

As large stones obstructed the digging work, the excavations were a major challenge. Machines were not available. Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, the drainage system was nevertheless completed professionally and on time. It has been in operation since August 2023.  

The costs for the entire drainage work amount to CHF 6,356, which was covered by a member of the association. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this generous support!
